eu studies: semester 1
In this module we learned about the history of Europe as a whole and how it is what it is today. We also learned the function of the European Union and the different aspects of the European Union.
week 1:
In week 1, we were introduced to the European Union. We learned about the European as a whole and the struggles they had in order to have peace within the European Union.
week 2:
In week 2, we furthered our knowledge about the history of Europe and the European Union. We learned the beginnings of the peaceful Europe and European Union. We were also given an European Studies Glossary that includes all the important words we have come across the module.
week 3:
In week 3, we learned about the process of EU enlargement. We have also learned how the EU came about and how it was made.
week 4:
In week 4, we learned about the EU budget and how the EU was financed. We also learned how the EU budget is contributed and spent.
week 5:
In week 5, we learned about the 5 main institutions in the European Union in detail and we also learned about each function of the institutions. The 5 main institutions include:
- European Commission
- Council of Ministers of the European Union
- European Council of Heads of State or Government
- European Parliament
- European Court of Justice
week 6:
In week 6, we furthered our study about the main institutions.
week 7:
In week 7, we learned about the different EU policies and how the EU budget is breakdown.
week 8:
We were given our Exam Revision Topics and Guidelines on how to answer each questions.
continuous assessments
assignment 1:
We were instructed to watch The Nobel Peace Prize Award Ceremony where The European Union was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.
assignment 2:
We were to do an in-class test. We were given six revision topics to study. On the day of the test we were to answer just three questions out of six.
